Creating the perfect product
Peter Teakle, whose family has been involved in the wine industry for generations, established Peter Teakle Wines on the philosophy that to create the best product you need the best produce and people. Peter firmly believed that the Eyre Peninsula, and its unique maritime climate, would result in unique wines that would be unrivalled.
His vision also included a fine dining restaurant on site to showcase Port Lincoln’s delectable local seafood and fresh produce. To bring his vision to fruition, Peter enlisted his son Ben Teakle, chief winemaker Liz Heidenreich and executive chef Mark Jensen, to lead a talented and dedicated team to elevate and position Port Lincoln and the Eyre Peninsula as a premier food and wine destination.
Utilising a multi-million dollar, 100-tonne wine crush facility, the first on the Eyre Peninsula, we ensure that harvested fruit is kept in pristine condition before being made into wine, resulting in award-winning flavours that connoisseurs, tourists and locals rave about.
Ever since we unveiled our iconic Cellar Door in December 2020, it swiftly became a cherished Port Lincoln landmark. Its striking curved design, resembling a trio of wine barrels, has captured hearts far and wide.
