'Home' grown produce at the Line & Label

Next time you’re visiting make sure to venture beyond our Cellar Door and vineyards and explore our beautiful gardens as well. Just like our wine, which is made from our site grown grapes, the menu at The Line & Label features much of our own ‘home’ grown produce.

Executive chef Mark Jensen and team regularly forage in the vegetable garden and greenhouse for herbs and edible flowers, which make our dishes at The Line & Label Restaurant truly stand out. It’s a paddock to plate experience; and as our not-so-humble veggie patch grows, you can expect to see more home grown goodness included on the menu.

“The vegetable garden is very much in the early stages; but we use as much of our own grown produce as we can and we plan to keep expanding. Peter has invested heavily in fresh water, installing 1.2 million litre tanks which sets us apart in the Eyre Peninsula where accessing fresh water has always been a challenge” says Jensen.

“The colourful garnishes really add to the dish presentation and flavour and allow us to put our own stamp on what we are doing. We use the garnishes and flowers on most of our dishes - my favourite is the Eyre Peninsula market fish, bluefin tuna tartare and lamb tataki - these dishes really pop".

“We also use our own grown herbs in both the kitchen and the bar, and they really do add a lot of flavour. We can’t wait to experiment even more as our produce grows, and I particularly can’t wait till we start to use more of our veggies in seasonal dishes."

Guests to the restaurant are invited to visit the Kitchen Garden, meticulously looked after by Head Gardener Tim Rogers, located at the front of the restaurant (to the left as you walk up from the carpark), and you can also wander down to walk amongst 250 newly planted fruit trees. A larger vegetable garden is currently being established - you can watch the progress from the restaurant balcony (look out to the left towards the vineyards) and also from the Cellar Door.

In addition to growing our own produce, our winery also boasts an incredible Wedding Garden, which is a must-visit if you are planning your special day. Our picturesque Wedding Garden is adorned with the most stunning flowers and sculptures and makes for a truly romantic backdrop for you and your significant other to say, ‘I do’.

Nestled amongst lavender plants and cherry blossom trees, our Wedding Garden offers you and your guests’ privacy in an intimate setting reminiscent of a garden in Tuscany or Provence. It's the ideal setting for you to begin your happily ever after.
